To the Editor: We thank Desai et al for their thoughtful engagement with our article, in which we reported that treatment with low-dose oral minoxidil (LDOM) for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) was not associated with clinically significant systolic or diastolic blood pressure (BP) changes in either gender or in any age group.
While hypotension-related side effects are rare in both genders, dermatologists may counsel female patients that they may rarely experience lightheadedness/dizziness when treated with LDOM for AGA, while male patients appear to have even lower risk.
